Ethyl Acetate is an ester that is found naturally in fruits and vegetables such as bananas, apples and coffee. Green coffee is first soaked in water and then steamed in order to expand the cells of the bean, the liquid solvent is then circulated through a bed of the moist green coffee, removing most of the caffeine. The solvent is then recaptured in an evaporator, and the beans are washed with water. |
